Everyone,
Welcome to MK220: Understanding Consumers. This site will serve as our main class space. It’s where you should go whenever you need information on course content, an assignment, readings, etc. (you can always ask me as well!).
Here you will find the following sections:
Assignments – Overviews of all the class assignments, as well as a link to the assignment in full two weeks before it is due.
Resources – course resources, emerson resources, and a host of other media resources that can help greatly with your work in this class, and beyond.
Readings – Information on the two required course books, and all other reading handouts will be posted here and available to download.
Weekly Content – A weekly breakdown of MK220. Pages include overview of the week ahead, including topics, theories, and content, plus readings, assignments, and any other material engaged with during the week.
Class Learning Tools – On the right column of the homepage, you will find hyperlinks to a Facebook Group Page, a Google Wiki, and WebCT. These spaces are the collaboration points for our class. You will need to use these regularly, for discussion threads, announcments, and keeping track of your grades and progress. Links to these tools can also be found in resources.
Lastly this course is premised on student engagement, interaction, dialog, collaboration, and fun. The course asks you to come prepared and enthusiastic to explore all the ways media have influenced consumption, production, and general behaviors in communities large and small.
Thanks,
Paul
